London Centre for Book Arts (LCBA) is the UK’s only open-access resource and education centre dedicated to book arts. Located in Fish Island, near Hackney Wick in east London.

  2. Today is the grand opening of the new Foyles flagship bookshop on Charing Cross Road.
Next weekend, We’re teaming up with Foyles and running a series of events as part of the month-long Grand Opening Festival. On Saturday 14 June, LCBA will be creating a live window display; letterpress printing and binding books in the new shop window. The following day, Sunday 15 June, we’ll be running an afternoon of bookbinding and letterpress printing workshops for kids and adults. To mark the launch of our latest publication – ‘Please Come to the Show’, edited by Museum of Modern Art Bibliographer David Senior – we have invited Berlin-based Bar Vulkan to host an evening devoted to celebrating the exhibition invitation card, a key yet often overlooked element of exhibition-making. David Senior’s wide-ranging selection of invitation cards and flyers from the Museum of Modern Art Library from the 1960s to the present will prompt remarks from book contributors, designers, artists and publishers including Ruth Blacksell, Sara De Bondt, David Crowley, Juan Cruz, Gustavo Grandal Montero, Will Holder, Antony Hudek, Patrick Lacey, Kaisa Lassinaro, Marysia Lewandowska, John Morgan, Fraser Muggeridge and Clive Phillpot, among others.
